Hello world!

So, I am an artist, eh?
Having been a mathematician and administrator most of my life, I am finding it hard to come to terms with that question!
Born in England, raised on cricket, hop tops and where drawing a newborn lamb had nothing to do with art, I had an A type personality and left-brain thinking skills. This was most suitable for a satisfying and successful career in education (always a teacher and sometimes an administrator). Art did not come into my top one hundred things to think about!
But I am a lucky man.
A few years ago something happened that ’shredded’ my left-brain neurological pathways, forcing me to push everything through the right side of my brain. And so I entered my second childhood.
For me, life is about passion: the passion that provides the energy, vigour and enthusiasm for all that we do. Painting has now become a significant part of my life, channelling my energies into creative form. I enjoy the big sweeps of the brush or knife loaded with colour, resulting in somewhat ‘abstract’ landscapes. Humour is also a large part of my world: I do not take myself, nor life, to seriously as it is way too short! That, I hope, is also reflected in my work.
Here I am, then, in my second childhood, and like a child, I love what I do, and I love how I do it.
So yes, I am an artist!
